“Thrift Savings Plan – 2005 Update”

a.  Sponsors:  These programs are sponsored by The Department of  Justice (DOJ) Television Network and The Federal Retirement Thrift Investment Board. 

b.  Availability:  This FREE non-scrambled, public domain program will be on the Military/Federal GETN/Warrior satellite networks whose downlinks at over 1400+  locations throughout the United States.  No C-Band Coverage will be available for these programs.   Limited videoconferencing connectivity for selected military sites may be available through special arrangement on the USA TNET, or Navy CNET videoconferencing networks.  ARNG DTTP VTC connectivity may also be available through special arrangement with the DTTP VOC Operations Center.  Local site use coordination of satellite downlinks will be required.  Contact Ed Kronholm’s office at 877-820-0305 if you have a question or problem locating a site.

Will these programs be Video streamed?  There are no plans for a webcast, live or archived, for these programs. 

Will these programs be closed captioned for the hearing impaired?   Yes

c.  Target Audience Statement:  The target audience will be any member of the federal government and/or military services with an interest in the topic listed.

d.  Program Summary:  Gisile Goethe of the Federal Retirement Thrift Investment Board will provide an update on one of the most important federal employee and military service benefits - the Thrift Savings Plan.  This program will not only cover plan basics, but also important changes and updates.  Topics to be discussed include:

-          The TSP Loan Program
-          Investment Funds
-          Withdrawal Options
-          Recent and Upcoming Changes to the TSP
-          TSP Open Season Changes
-          Catch Up Contributions
-          New Life Cycle Funds

This program is applicable to all Federal Employees and active duty military personnel.  This program will NOT be live and NO questions will be taken by phone, fax, or email. 

e.  CEUs, CMEs, Certificates:  None. 

f.  Videotape Availability:  None.  DOJ has discontinued its prior practice of providing free tapes of its programs to non-DOJ organizations due to budget cuts. 

g.  Videotape Release (if taping from broadcast):  These FREE programs are unclassified and non-scrambled.  There are no copyright restrictions on these programs, however they MAY NOT be videotaped and re-broadcast where fees are attached to its showing.  It may not be used for commercial purposes or for profit purposes without additional permission of the sponsors.
