d. Program Summary: Disasters disrupt hundreds of thousand of lives each year. Each disaster has lasting effect, both to people and property. Being prepared can reduce fear, anxiety, and loss that accompany disasters. For this reason, it is important that everyone be prepared.
This program is one family’s story on how they got prepared. It is designed to allow you to fully experience what they did and to consider how their actions apply to your situation. Like the family in the video, we hope that you take steps to be prepared and like them are able to say "YES, we are ready."
Following the program, we have included
two additional family preparedness segments that may help you and your family in
the future:
1.) An instructional video to explain the steps to follow in setting up a
portable generator as an effective power supply, while minimizing the risk of
fire and eliminating carbon monoxide fumes
2.)And the final segment looks at flash floods, and provides insight into the
terrible danger these floods can create in just minutes.
