b.  Sponsor’s Program Overview:   This program focuses on a topic that has received significant media attention over the past few years – justifiable homicide by police officer, more commonly known as “suicide by cop”.  Experts from the FBI will discuss what suicide by cop is, the psychological factors that cause individuals to provoke police officers to kill them, and the effect that suicide by copy has on the law enforcement community.

 

c.  Program Objectives:  This broadcast will explain to law enforcement officers some of the reasons that people intentionally provoke them with weapons, and also how officers may suffer emotional after effects from such incidents. 

 

d.  Target Audience Statement:  Local, State, Federal law enforcement officials, prosecutors, and forensic scientists.
