a.  Sponsors:  Live Response is a recurring bi-monthly videotaped satellite broadcast offering Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) related awareness information to the nation's civilian and military emergency response communities.  Live Response is the product of an interagency program effort from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), bringing together the Office for Domestic Preparedness (ODP) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Emergency Education NETwork (EENET).  Live Response is produced by the National Terrorism Preparedness Institute, a division of the Southeastern Public Safety Institute at St. Petersburg College, St. Petersburg, Florida.  Additional support is furnished by the US Army Satellite Education Network (SEN) at Ft. Lee, Va.

 

b.  Availability:  This FREE, live, public domain unscrambled program will be available as scheduled on C/KU analog satellite downlinks and on the Military/Federal GETN/CDV Convergent digital satellite networks.  Live and archived Webcast of this program will be available.  GETN/Convergent digital satellite downlinks are found at selected military and federal installations and at over 1,000 military and federal locations around the country.  Other federal and private satellite networks, including the Department of Justice and the Veteran’s Administration may also carry this program.  The program may also be available to a limited number of non-satellite capable military sites via VTC terrestrial relay using the USA TNET, USN CNET, or ARNG DTTP VTC networks.  Local site use coordination of satellite downlinks will be required.  Contact Ed Kronholm, the Satellite Registrations Coordinator, toll free at 877-820-0305 or 888-820-4898, if you have a question or problem locating a site.

c.  Target Audience Statement:  The primary target audience includes federal, state, and local law enforcement, fire service, emergency medical services (EMS), emergency management, and public works officials working with WMD programs.  Secondary audiences for this program include federal, state, and local police academies, university police, military police/security units, military emergency preparedness officials, sheriff's offices and public health officials. 

 

d.  Program Summary and Objectives:  The National Terrorism Preparedness Institute (NTPI) at St. Petersburg College (SPC) presents "Live Response""Live Response" is a 60-minute live discussion in which a panel of experts explores topics related to Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) consequence management and engages in question and answer sessions with the program audience.
                              

"Post-Incident Reporting and Lessons Learned" 

 

 An After Action Report (AAR) and Improvement Plan should be prepared and submitted to DHS/ODP following every incident/exercise.  Live Response guests will discuss the post-incident reporting process and how lessons learned may help emergency response providers and homeland security officials prevent, prepare for, respond to, and recover from acts of terrorism.

 

Live Response expert guests welcome viewer questions concerning WMD Exercises – Design & Execution and invite viewers to call, e-mail, or fax their questions during the broadcast.

f.  CEUs, CMEs, Certificates:  We are pleased to announce you may now obtain CEUs for successful completion of our program course.  Please select the broadcast you would like to view from the list below.  After viewing the broadcast, we ask that you review the Learning Objectives, and then fill out and submit a registration form.  Upon submitting your completed registration form, you will have access to the course exam and a course evaluation.  Once you complete and submit the course exam and the course evaluation, you will receive your exam results and a certificate of completion via email or USPS mail provided you passed the test with a 75% or better score.  Each 1-hour broadcast is worth 0.1 CEUs.  Details can be found here:  http://terrorism.spcollege.edu.

h.  Videotape release (if taping from broadcast):  This FREE program is unclassified and non-scrambled.  There are no copyright restrictions on this program, however it MAY NOT be videotaped and re-broadcast where fees are attached to its showing.  It may not be used for commercial purposes or for profit purposes without additional permission of the sponsors.

 

i.  Satellite Coordinates and Site Support Materials Packet:  Satellite Coordinates are never publicly published.  You must register to receive the satellite coordinates.  Please register as requested in the next paragraph.
