a.  Sponsors:  This program is sponsored by the non-profit Peers Influence Peers Partnership working together with the Elks National Drug Awareness Program, the NYS Cable and Public Broadcasting Industries, the Putnam Valley Central School District, and Schools and Youth Programs across the country.

b.  Program Summary:  "Peers Influence Peers XI: A Perfect Senior Year" is a 60 minute program that features youth in front of and behind the camera. High school age students work on every aspect of the production, the only youth national broadcast in the country.

This year's program will feature youth from Oklahoma, New Jersey and New York encouraging their peers to avoid the dangers of drug and alcohol use. In addition, an original drama, "A Perfect Senior Year", written by Jesse a high school junior will address the effects on the lives friends and family because of bad decisions made by one senior student, Mike Redding.
 

c.  Program Objectives:  Viewers of this broadcast will learn:

-  How youth speak to each their peers about drug and alcohol use
-  What youth have to say to their peers about drug and alcohol use and its effects on users
-  How their actions impact on their friends and family
-  What the alternatives to continued abuse are 

d  Target Audience Statement:  This student produced program will target:

-          The primary target audience are High school aged students who can best influence their peer groups.
-          Secondary audiences include teachers, school administrations, school health care workers and parents who counsel young people about drug and alcohol usage.

e.  Availability:  This free, public domain program will be available C-Band Analog satellite downlinks.  Subscribers to the Dish Network small dish satellite network will also be able to see the program on the evenings of Friday 29 April and Wednesday 04 May 2005.  Many local cable access stations will also carry this program one or more times.  (Check with your cable access provider for their schedules.)
